The Best Books for the Worst Times. Reading for the Summer that Wasn’t

June 30, 2020 |

In the summer of 2020, books can give you what you need right now.  Professor Cronin has book suggestions for any of your reading goals.  Maybe you want to dig into the best novels of the twenty-first century, or learn about the American experience through the eyes of Black writers and books by people of color.  Or will you catch up on the classics that you “should” have read?  Travel to faraway places without risking the airport? Expand your knowledge of history, culture, and events through important nonfiction works--or just escape the daily news with a great story?  Join us to hear about important recent authors, anti-racist books, and great authors not to be missed.  We’ll have time for your own suggestions and Q&A.
