Greatness is their Mission: How the Values of Young Voters are Reshaping America
November 5, 2019 | NH Institute of Politics
The 21st century belongs to a new generation of young people born in America, connected to the world, tackling the challenges their parents ignored, and in a constant battle toward the pursuit of happiness. Join John Della Volpe, Director of Polling at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, as he shares their stories and previews the future they are shaping for all of us.
Driven by values and a vision fundamentally different, and often in conflict, with those who govern them, many of the millennium’s most meaningful achievements are owed to our youngest citizens. In the last few years, we have witnessed young people in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia climb up and counter authoritarian and populist regimes, supporting leaders who are true to their values, if not always their age. Political careers, brands, and industries have been launched and destroyed in record time based upon their alignment (or lack thereof) with the values of this emerging generation.
